Hello and welcome to the Accessibility Guide of Hotel 34B⋆⋆⋆.

We’ve gathered here all the practical information to ensure that every visitor enjoys a pleasant, comfortable and inclusive experience, whatever their needs or abilities.

1. Access & Parking

  • Main entrance address: : 34, rue Bergère – 75009 Paris
  • The property has a main entrance on the street and a secondary accessible entrance dedicated to guests using a wheelchair. Here is a link to its GPS coordinates for easier wayfinding: here
  • Main entrance: two steps measuring 8 cm and 16 cm (not independently usable by guests with reduced mobility).
  • Accessible entrance (to the left of the main entrance): access via an assisted-opening door, intercom located 122 cm above the ground, and an indoor ramp with a gentle slope (5%).
  • Nearby parking options:
    • On-street parking: public spaces (not specifically designated for PRM)..
    • Drop-off area: no
    • Private parking: no
  • Nearby accessible public car parks:
    • Indigo Faubourg Montmartre (5 rue Geoffroy-Marie – 150 m)
    • Rex Atrium (5 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière – 200 m)
    • These car parks offer suitable spaces and accessible elevators.

2. Entrance to the property

  • Width of the narrowest door: 91 cm, with the opening control located 90 cm above the floor.
  • Entrance type: Manually operated door (useful passage width 85 cm) with an easy-to-grip handle and an opening force below 50 N.
  • Entrance vestibule: 170 cm deep, with a flat, non-slip floor.
  • Indoor ramp: gentle 5% slope.
  • Monitored entrance – immediate visibility of reception staff: Yes
  • Audio beacon: No
  • Call system and intercom: Yes

3. Reception & Welcome

  • Hearing loop available: not installed; recommended and currently in progress.
  • Reception desk: accessible for wheelchair users (clear space underneath).
  • Reservations: mainly by email, with the option to contact the central reservation office to indicate specific needs.
  • Languages spoken: French, English, Spanish
  • Pets: not allowed, except guide dogs and assistance dogs, of course.

  • Assistance from staff for carrying luggage or accessing rooms

5. Accessible toilets (on the ground floor)

Mixed restroom equipped with:

  • Turning space inside
  • Accessible washbasin
  • Easy-to-grip mixer tap
  • Soap dispenser and toilet paper holder at an appropriate height
  • Toilet seat 45–50 cm above the floor
  • Side grab bar scheduled to be replaced and upgraded

6. Signage

  • Consistent and easy-to-read signage with standardized pictograms
  • No braille or tactile maps
  • Plan to add raised room numbers at handle height, with contrasting colours and sans-serif characters (such as Luciole or Arial).

7. Vertical circulation

Staircases

  • Main staircase (Ground floor → 6th floor): compliant, equipped with contrasting stair nosings, tactile warning strips, and lighting above 150 lux.
  • Secondary staircases (Ground floor → 5th floor): compliant.
  • Staircase to basement (bar): installation of tactile warning strips and contrasting riser markings planned.
  • Service staircase to basement level –2: improvements underway (non-slip stair nosings and enhanced contrast).

Elevators

The hotel has 3 elevators, including 1 that meets accessibility requirements:

  • Door clearance: 80 cm
  • Cabin dimensions: 127 × 98 cm
  • Through-car operation
  • Control panel with raised tactile buttons and voice announcements
  • Mirror and grab bar
  • Landing signage visible and easy to read

8. Accessible rooms

Number of adapted rooms: 4

Sleeping area features:

  • 150 cm turning radius
  • Lateral clearance ≥ 90 cm
  • Bed height: 50 cm
  • Accessible sockets and reading lights on both sides of the headboard
  • Accessible minibar and safe
  • High clothes rail (210 cm) → installation of a second rail at 110–130 cm planned
  • Door-closer checks in progress

Bathroom:

  • Sliding or hinged door (depending on the room)
  • Compliant turning space
  • Accessible washbasin with easy-to-grip mixer tap
  • Walk-in shower (floor without major obstacles)
  • Grab bars:
    • Planned installation of 70-cm vertical bars at a height of 90 cm
    • Replacement or addition of 90° or 135° lateral bars depending on layout
  • Easy-grip handles to be added to sliding doors
  • Accessible soap dispensers and hair dryer

Safety:

  • Audible alarm throughout the property
  • No specific visual alert (under review)
  • Television with remote control
  • No hearing-assistance devices (amplified phone or vibrating alarm clock), available on request at reception

9. Breakfast and complimentary soft open bar

Located on the ground floor, on one level.

    • Self-service buffet accessible independently for most items
    • Furniture suitable for wheelchair users (central base, 75 cm height)
    • Assistance available from staff throughout the service
