Accessibility at the Hotel Lorette ⋆⋆⋆

Hello and welcome to the Accessibility Guide of Hotel Lorette ⋆⋆⋆.

We’ve gathered here all the practical information to ensure that every visitor enjoys a pleasant, comfortable and inclusive experience, whatever their needs or abilities.

1. Access & Parking

  • Address of the main entrance: 36, rue Notre Dame de Lorette – 75 009 Paris
  • The main entrance is street-facing and step-free. Here is a link to its GPS coordinates for easier location: here
  • The threshold has a slight 4 cm rise, bevelled to make crossing easier.
  • Nearby parking options:
    • On-street parking: public spaces, not reserved.
    • Drop-off zone: none
    • Private parking: none
  • Accessible public car parks nearby:
    • Q-Park Haussmann Galeries Lafayette (37 boulevard Haussmann – 300 m)
    • Parking Anvers (41 boulevard de Rochechouart – 400 m)
    • This car park offers adapted spaces and accessible lifts.

2. Entrance to the property

  • Width of the narrowest door: 100 cm
  • Type of entrance: Automatic sliding door with detection and timing, ensuring safe access for wheelchair users.
  • Monitored entrance – immediate visibility to reception staff: Yes
  • Call device: Yes

3. Reception & Welcome

  • Hearing loop available: not installed
  • Height of the reception desk: currently not accessible for wheelchair users. A console at an appropriate height is available (70 cm high with a lower clearance of 30 cm depth and 60 cm width).
  • Booking: mainly by email, with the option to contact the reservations centre to indicate any specific needs
  • Languages spoken: French, English, Spanish
  • Pets: not allowed, except guide dogs and assistance dogs, of course.

4. Available services

  • Assistance from staff for carrying luggage or accessing rooms
  • Medical equipment delivery available on request

  • List of useful contacts (doctors, emergency services, accessible taxis) available at reception

  • No staff currently proficient in French Sign Language (LSF)

5. Accessible toilets (located on the first basement level, accessible by lift)

Unisex cubicle equipped with:

  • Interior manoeuvring space
  • Lateral support bar (currently being adapted for compliance)
  • Interior pull bar to be installed
  • Accessible washbasin (83 cm high, with clear space underneath)
  • Easy-grip mixer tap
  • Soap dispenser and toilet paper holder at an appropriate height

6. Signage

  • Simple and consistent signage with accessibility pictograms
  • No Braille, large print, or tactile/relief maps
  • Room numbers will soon be added in raised lettering with contrasting colour, positioned at handle height.

7. Vertical circulation

Stairs

  • Ground floor → basement: installation planned for tactile warning strips, non-slip and contrasting stair nosings, contrasting riser strips, and extended handrails.
  • Upper-floor staircases: same improvements planned (1st to 5th floors).

Lifts

  • Main lift: serves all levels (Basement to 6th floor)
  • Door clearance: 80 cm
  • Cabin: 144 × 109 cm
  • Braille and raised signage
  • Voice assistance, mirror, handrail
  • Secondary lift: serves from Ground floor to 5th floor
  • Door clearance: 70 cm
  • Cabin: 72 × 134 cm
  • Braille and raised signage

    ⚠️ Not compliant but cannot be modified due to structural constraints

8. Accessible rooms

Number of adapted rooms: 3

Manoeuvring space: diameter ≥ 150 cm
Lateral clearance beside the bed: ≥ 90 cm
Bed height: 50 cm
Accessible sockets and reading lights on both sides of the headboard
Accessible minibar, safe repositioned at 90–130 cm (recommended)

Bathroom

  • Hinged door
  • Shower with a 4.5 cm step (scheduled to be replaced by a walk-in shower)
  • Accessible washbasin
  • Accessible vanity mirror (fixed wall mirror, not tilting)
  • Suitable grab bars
  • Shower seat or stool
  • Easy-grip taps

Safety

  • Audible alarm only (no visual alert)
  • No amplified telephone or vibrating alarm clock available by default
  • Loan available on request (planned)

9. Breakfast and complimentary soft open bar

  • The room is located on the basement level, accessible by lift or by stairs equipped with handrails.
    • Self-service buffet accessible for most items
    • Staff present throughout service, assistance available on request
    • Table height: 75 cm, allowing wheelchair access
    • Central-leg furniture making seating easier
    • Table service available for guests with reduced mobility

10. Inner courtyard

  • Accessible with assistance from staff thanks to a portable threshold ramp (7 cm inside, 13 cm outside), available on request

11. Shared areas

  • Access to the upper floors via the main lift
  • Consistent and enhanced lighting in the corridors
  • Lack of contrast on the first and last steps (update planned)
